Subject: [Leica] How long has the M8 been out? Beyond warranty period?

Our 40th anniversary is coming up in February, and my wife made me promise
not to buy her another expensive present, but to get something for myself.
So, I was thinking maybe of an M8 and some lenses for me instead.  Seems
logical...any flaws in the reasoning?
