Wind back twelve months or so and picture Ted posting about 'speed of production and communication - quality of digital printers and printing paper while shooting in RAW format-" Next you'll be telling us that Photoshop is the bee's knees and offering advice on how to implement bleeding edge performance upgrades on our computers. Bless you, Ted the gear-head ;-) Cheers Geoff -----Original Message----- Subject: RE: [Leica] On Both Sides Bob Offered: "The M7 and other M's will always be stalwarts for those of us who want the gilt-edge certificate of silver and THE Negative. There's no way of substituting digital for the real thing." Gee Bob I didn't know there were people still this archaic in thinking film vs. digital any longer. I mean what constitutes the "Real Thing?" I'll give you the first few years of digital, you are correct. Today? Not on your life in today's world, economically, speed of production and communication. I suppose if someone is dinking around over a weekend with money to burn for film and processing, stick to film. But in the real world of communications these days, quality of digital printers and printing paper while shooting in RAW format with the newer cameras, film is the way of the Pharos! ted _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
