It should rise slightly above the surface of the camera mount ring. When the lens is mounted, this metal catch will rest in the milled slot of the lens mount and lock it in place. If it lost some of it's spring and doesn't exert pressure on the slot of the lens it won't click in. I had this same condition occur on my M5 body to where none of my lenses locked in place. I was able to put a very small screwdriver under the flat catch and bend it up ever so slightly. That fixed the problem. Also look and see if the slot in the lens mount is not worn to where it won't grab the lock.
