If, and they did, make the Kodak Photo Mural at Grand Central Train Station
in NYC from 35mm Film negatives, then you could as well make a 16x20 from a
Minox negative.

OTOH, how close will you get to the mural..... 50 feet?  100 feet?
To the 16x20.... 10 feet of more?  May be just as good.

But you are right, the noise goes down if the pixel size is larger.  Smaller
sensors = higher noise.  ( I do mean sensor element size)

No one sells a Minox and says "you can make a 16x20 print with it!"
As its obvious you can make a 16x20 print with it not that you'd care to
look at it closer than across the street.
