For my personnla use I give a great importance of he new Elmarit 28 ASPH compactness. About the Zeiss Ikon RF I can't give my opinion, I've never had one on my hands. Steve said that viewfidner is better, I suppose he refers to the VF and the RF, for me the better rangefinder that Leica has never made is the M3, I own an M6 and a MP, but M3 is superb!, also I give also a great value to the noise effect. Used Classic M6 is the best buy out there in Leica. Buy a body for $1000 or less. Send it to your favorite repair place for $300 and get a full tuneup. For $1300, you have one of the best cameras available for film. Period. As far as comparing a used camera to a new one... again I disagree. It is a fair comparison for users. I think the entire reason for the Summarit lens line is used Summicrons. In fact, a used 28 Elmarit is MORE expensive than a new Elmarit ASPH. It is function for function comparison. Used vs new is a risk assessment issue which affects price. Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net > > I can't follow your calculations fully. Otherwise the comparisons get quite useless as > there's to much space for flexible interpretation. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
