As I mentioned before, All f/2.8 Elmars and all the f/2 collapsibles do not retract as far as the early f/3.5 Elmars. As I mentioned previously, only the 90/4 Elmar collapsible (the old one, not the new macro) is questionable. I don't have one available to test, but I think it extends furthest into the body when retracted. So all other collapsibles are fine. All. And maybe the old 90/4 as well. On the other hand, if you've collapsed your Noctilux by driving a car over it, things might not be OK whether or not you're trying to mount it on the M8. >On Feb 28, 2008, at 10:24 AM, Leonard Taupier wrote: > >> I'm pretty sure Henning and certainly Jeffrey have more >>collapsible lenses then I do but here are the lenses that I have >>that are fine when collapsed in the M8. >> >> LTM 5cm/3.5 Elmar (made in 1946) this has the longest recess but >>still clears. >> LTM 50mm /2 Summicron (1955) >> LTM 50mm/ 2 Summitar (1949) >> LTM 5cm/2 Summar (1937) >> M 50mm/2 Summicron (1954) >> M 90mm/4 micro-Elmar (current model) >> >> Len >> >> >> On Feb 28, 2008, at 10:59 AM, Henning Wulff wrote: >> >>>> the old 50 summicron collapsible does. >>>> >>>> -rei >>>> >>>> On Feb27 14:01, Henning Wulff wrote: >>>>> At 12:45 PM -0700 2/27/08, Steve Barbour wrote: >>>>> >On Feb 27, 2008, at 11:43 AM, Henning Wulff wrote: >>>>> > >>>>> >>> Anyone out there using collapsible lenses on their M8, like me? >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> so what do you use to keep them from collapsing? >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> Yeah, yeah....I know, rubber bands...so what else is out there >>>>> >>>that will work, >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> and guarantee that they won't collapse, and screw the pooch? >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> Anything? >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> >>>>> >>> thanks, Steve >>>>> >>> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> Just let them collapse.
