:-) Let me rephrase that. If you or anyone so inclined to speculate, 
does what I wrote make sense or am I missing something?

I know, this is at best academic and I am sure some people could call 
it a lot worse, but this is directly relevant to me as a Leica user, 
a potential digital M buyer (although the fund is not there currently 
as it got spent on a dSLR), and as a business person that has to make 
similar decisions all the time.

I know too that I should be out making pictures instead of asking 
useless questions, but I just did. Honest. Fisheye lens can be a lot of 
fun...
