This is a case where early disclosure of new product plans will not hurt the existing camera lines, nor will it slow down cash flow. There is no digital SLR in the Leica line now. Announcing a new camera to appear in 2009 ( presumably) MAY have the effect of slowing down the migration of Leica SLR users to Canon or Nikon. In this case, I would leak as much as I could about product development ( and first of all the lens mount!!) , and only be cagey about the intro date. Entice customers but not promise them anything in any time frame Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net Something on the R line will be shown on the photokina. But what is totally uncertain. But they should know at least what the overall concept will be. If the old lenses will be compatible, why not say it right now? That will keep the confidence in the R- line and help the sales of new lenses. I will not buy any new R glass until I know what they will do and I bet there will be no, or limited, lens compatibility.
