I always keep my cars until they're ready for scrap.  Since 1970, we've had 
one
car for 11 years, then one for 17.  Now the Prizm is from 1990, and the Honda
is a '93, but they've got years to go before I'm ready to get anything newer.

Same for cameras  ;~)
