I should add that it is precisely the combination of fiesta and genuine religious emotions that make Spanish Semana Santa celebrations so impressive. The religious element is genuine and is very much reflected in the participants. This makes it a much more impressive and profound occasion than a typical parade like the Moros y Cristianos festival that I photographed in early February. And say this even though I am not even Christian.
