Lovely weather and Bremen was looking its best. These are straight out of lightroom, some cropped a little and minimum tweaks - for the technically minded Canon 20D + Tokina f4 12-24mm 'Im Schnoor' the oldest part of town, down by the River Weser (yes that's the one - deep and wide - but Hamelin will be another trip) Hochzeitshaus - it's a cafe http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7504.jpg.html The narrow main street of the Schnoor quarter http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7507.jpg.html A small square just off 'Im Schnoor' http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7516.jpg.html Theo Schl?ter's bike http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7518.jpg.html Professor Theo Schl?ter (Radio Journalist) and my missus, Frauke http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7535.jpg.html The 'Bremer Roland' statue on the Domhof http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7540.jpg.html Roland is a sign of commercial honesty and trust in the Hanseatic League Beck's am Markt, where we had lunch afterwards http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7542.jpg.html The 'Bremer Stadtmusikanten' - folk story figures who met up with each other on the way to Bremen to earn their keep as musicians, on the way they scared a band of robbers out of a house and liked it so much that they stayed. In spite of their name, they never actually got to Bremen excapt as the statue - it's supposed to bring luck if you rub the Donkey's nose or hoof. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7543.jpg.html Outdoor cafe in front of the Town Hall (Rathaus) and the Cathedral (Dom) http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7543.jpg.html The Rathaus and another church (St Martin -I think) http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7548-Edit.jpg.html B?ttcherstrasse - Bremen has always been famous for artists and craftsmen (Worpswede is not far away - Modersohn-Becker and co.) this is an art deco street, still full of art deco shops and galleries. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7555.jpg.html Bremen was still rich at the time Germany still had a 'Kaiser' - this is representative of typical Bremen bank architecture, and a rather nice transition between old and modern architecture. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7557.jpg.html The centrepiece of one half of Bremen's B?rgerpark (Citizens' Park) the 'Stadtm?hle' (City Mill) http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/_MG_7560.jpg.html If you held out until here, thanks for taking the time to take a look. When I get around to it, I'll do some more serious editing on some of them Best from Hannover Douglas
