Mark,

I have seen livestock marked by ear notches, for various ID purposes, but I 
suspect that the rabbit had an incident with a thorn of some sort.  Doug 
says that these live in a blackberry thicket. The image is well done, to 
Doug's usual standards.  I can't even get close enough to the ones in my 
yard to get a decent photo.  I'm not sure what my neighbors would say if I 
got out with a shoulder stock near a busy street.  Someone would report me 
as a terrorist.
