From what I have read, the IS only works with adapters that have a chip attached that allows one to "fake out" the camera by inputting the lens FL manually. The chip is glued to the inside surface of the adapter and has contacts that mate with the camera contacts at the bottom of the lens mount. Someone else may have better info.
