If it's new can you exchange it with your dealer or try another example on there? Ty your lens on another M8? Have you investigated any other possible factors? For example is the 6 bit sensor clean? Are the pits in the lens clean? Have you tried wiggling the lens when mounted? Please keep us informed and good luck getting it sorted out quickly. Now defective 21 Elmarit Bob, No, there are no frame lines for the 21 on the M8 or any other M that I know of. However, Dave told me the 21 should call up the 28/90 frame lines to work properly for lens ID. Mine calls up the 24/35 frames, and the ID does not work, however if I manually select the 28/90 frames it records the lens as a 21 mm lens, so the mount needs to be fixed/replaced so it selects the 28/90 frames.
