My workflow is something like this: 1) Copy RAW images from the CF card to a directory on my computer called RAW Dump 2) Import the images into Lightroom, with the "convert to DNG" option. I have a default directory which is the destination for those DNG files. 3) Once import has gone OK, I copy the RAW files from step 1 to a backup HD and delete them from the computer. All subsequent work is on the DNG files from step 2.
