Top of the line lenses and digital camera bodies cost a lot of money to design and manufacture. And they cost even more when the fit and finish is top shelf. Does not seem to be any short cuts on quality. Granted many amazing gizmos are available quite inexpensively; including some amazing camera gismos. Yet, top of the line remains top price. If someone could make an M8 for a selling price of $1,600 and 50mm Summilux Asph for selling price of $800 I'm sure they would.
