It snowed 12" in the Hudson Valley last night and the temperature is
hovering around 15 F. This morning's e-mail brought a warning from
the Olympus company about using digital cameras in the cold.

"Sub-freezing temperatures can damage a digital camera?particularly
the LCD screen. Therefore, a digital camera should not be left in a
car in the winter for extended periods of time. This also applies to
digital voice recorders, as they have LCD screens."

Has anyone ever had a LCD screen permanently damaged by cold weather?
