Hi Steve,

Very interesting, as I've done that in the past quite often. It's surprising
the story telling photos that can come while quietly walking about and
observing the many "little things" that make beautiful photographs. 

I've found the best time is when it's soft overcast light. Or as I
discovered one day on Cape Cod in the fog and it was wonderful. It created a
kind of ethereal effect, not ghostly, most emotional where I found a very
small USA flag beside a stone marker to a fallen soldier from a war long
ago. Quite moving actually.

 

I'll see if I can find it and post it later.
