In any case George's photo is a crop. No lens detection possible with a Visoflex either! Nor anything in the shot likely to show visible IR effects. Back on the more important part, the subject, George has made a lovely quiet shot that would have been impossible without his creative adaptation. Cool! Not as cool as gullzilla however ;-) Real men do M8 wildlife photography with a 75mm <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/a/usa/a/SF51.jpg.html> Cheers Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/e http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ Pick up your camera and make the best photo you can. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+hoppyman=bigpond.net.au@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of wildlightphoto@earthlink.net Sent: Wednesday, 31 December 2008 07:42 To: lug@leica-users.org Subject: RE: [Leica] IMG: M8 + Visoflex + 400 mm Telyt f:6.8 Geoff Hopkinson wrote: > ... given the focal length, I think that the IR/UV filter is irrelevant. ?? I thought that the IR filter helps regardless of the focal length, it's the lens detection / cyan corner fix that's irrelevant for long lenses on the M8. I don't see much polyester on these ducks & geese so it's all a moot point.
