These are systems; and while the dizzying array of adapters provide great fun and a huge amount of potential flexibility between systems; in my experience - the system parts work best with one another. Before acquiring the DMR I was very happy to use the R glass on the 5D. But now it makes little sense from either an ergonomic or quality perspective. The 5D is much more fun to use with Canon lenses. and The R lenses are much more fun to use on the R bodies.
