Subject: [Leica] Is the DOF using a digital sensor any different than thatof film?

It is not really "true", but Helen "by nature" will get more DOF with her
Olympus for a given "scene" than I get with the DMR. For me its the sensor
size. Same thing with the old Minox V 35mm V medium format. The maths was
the same, but who would ever use an 80mm lens on a Minox!!!

Cheers

And when i worked with a specific view camera lens
it never occurred to me
to ask if the DOF changed
when I changed the back
from 8x10 to 5x7 or 4x5 or 6 cm x 9 cm.

DOF does not change
with a format change.
DOF changes only with
a change of f:stop or
with a change in distance
between the lens and the plane of focus.
