That is, storage on a server you can access from anywhere and any computer, including your iPhone or iPod Touch, even when you're not online. It's from a resource called ZumoDrive (http://zumodrive.com/) and it's free if you only need a gig of storage, and relatively inexpensive if you need more. The way it works is this: You DL the installation file and run it. After it's installed you will find a Z: drive on your computer. Drag and drop any file to Z: and you can access it online, or even offline on the Phone/Touch. Z: initially has three folders -- Documents, Pictures and Music. Docs can include Word, Excel, TXT, and PDF files, among others. Music is for MP3 and other music formats, and Pictures is for JPGs et al. Once you have files on the Z: drive they are available for viewing, sharing, etc. You can also set up sub-folders. To share a photo, say, you right-click (PC) on the file and select "share". Then you can get a link to the photo that you can post anywhere you like (kind of like TinyUrl). For example, this link should show a flower photo from my Canon SX110: http://www.zumodrive.com/share/26WNmY1Mz. You can also link to any folders or sub-folders you have created on the Z: drive. To access files from your Phone/Touch you'll need to DL the ZumoDrive app from the app store (free for now). After you install it, you'll find an app icon on your Phone/Touch that takes you to the Z: drive on you home computer. Sweet! The reason you can access files offline on the Phone/Touch is that ZumoDrive puts your most recently accessed files on your gadget if there's room available. Of course, if you have 100 gigs of ZumoDrive storage most of it will still have to be accessed online. Works great on my iPod Touch. -- Phil Swango 307 Aliso Dr SE Albuquerque, NM 87108 505-262-4085
