Another change is that when the SD card is locked, or if the mechanical sensor is jammed fooling the camera into thinking that it is locked (as it happens with my camera often) you can still navigate through the menu. What I can do with the "discreet" Mode is that I can take a photograph, and hide the camera to recock the shutter... Useful in a situation like classical concerts.
