[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Interesting, my SB800 has a plastic shoe, its about 3 years old, I bought it right after I got the D200, which is now my wife's. ?Yes that cheap plastic lever is a joke. ?Personally, I like the old flash shoe that Nikon used on the old F series cameras the best, although they were a pain when it came to rewinding the film. ?;-) ?I'm not sure I have ever seen a flash hot shoe that was metal, I will have to go to the local camera shop and look at the current Nikon offerings. The Leica flashes these days do have a nice metal pin that slides into a hole in the camera mount to hold it very securely. I paid $350 for a Metz 14 years ago for my R4. ?2 years ago I priced a Metz unit for my M8 and they wanted $675 without the adapter.?
