In general, my experience with most of them has been good when buying from a reputable shop (I happen to like www.batterier.dk, but they do not ship outside Scandinavia). I have bought such batteries for all the Canon and Olympus DSLRs I have owned (a total of 4 different kinds) and they all worked as well as the original ones. However, I did once get a dud battery for my Olympus from another supplier. No damage to the camera, but it was a piece of junk that did not hold its charge.
