Hi Ric,

Congratulations for your M8!!!

I'm a new digital user, others had previous experiences with other
digital cameras. What I can say is that is really fast to be used to
be with the M8, some advices, keep always a spare battery and a spare
SD Card, format the card every time after discharhing, be careful with
the positions of the power button, I'm used on mechanical cameras and
quite usually I move it and the camera is dissabled IMO this should be
improved.

I usually use it almost as my MP, mainly on manual speed setting, I
never work with automatic ISO, for the moment the only lens I have
coded is the Elmarit 28 ASPH, and I can't appreciate differences on
the other lenses, I've put the Auto white balance, corrected the meter
to -1/3, and I always shoot DNG, I prefer preserve the maximum quality
on my digital negatives.

Be careful changing lenses, the sensor is dirty more fast that I want.

These are my 2 cents...

I look forward to see soon your pictures, of course you will
appreciate it much more noisy than a M6, this is a shame, also the
lack of precision of the framelines, but I can live with this "problem".

Good luck!

Saludos cordiales
Lluis
