But there is no legal basis for any ban on taking photos of [police/public buildings/rail stations] as has been made explicit in the formal advice to police officers (added emphasis is in the original): "The Terrorism Act 2000 *does not prohibit people from taking photographs or digital images* ... Officers should not prevent people from taking photographs unless they are in an area where photography is prevented by other legislation."
