Adam,
I owned a 4000. BW really only prints somewhat well on matte.
If that's what you're using, try Roy Harrington's RIP, Quadtone:

Subject: [Leica] Blocked up dark colors on ink jet prints

I have an image that I just cannot seem to print well on my Epson
4000. The dark colors are totally blocked up.

I was surfing a week or so ago and I found this site that discussed,
with ample illustrations, various printing problems including
highlights and blocked dark detail.

But I cannot find it and I can't seem to get Google to find anything like it.

any suggestions?

Flumuxed in Davis...

Adam
