Hi Tina,
Well I'm in your category of feeling for Leica equipment, no question!
I've used Leicas of any number of models since about 1956-57 day after day 
in shooting working assignments and my preference even today is for Leica 
gear. The only impediment? .... cost and semi re-tired not producing the 
kind of income I did for so many years. And physically with the failing eye 
sight requiring auto focus with the SLR'S. :-( 
However, the range finder versions never failed me even in the coldest of 
arctic weather, the wettest of storms on the North Atlantic deep sea fishing 
trawlers, and the heat and dust of the desert. Today it's an M8 first choice 
before thinking or carrying any other brand.

To me the LUG is the LUG, users of Leica gear. However common sense dictates 
we are all brothers and sisters one big family about photography! So the 
learning aspect about "photography and appreciating it with the many members 
is paramount first and foremost!" Not what Twinkie lens or body somebody 
used to take the picture, other than if it were a photo that absolutely 
required a Leica lens or body to make the shot. Most do! ;-) ;-) :-)
