I agree, better to use the lenses than let them collect dust... however my backup R8/DMR cost very little more than B&H gets for a D700. Add a few leitax adapters and it's a wash. I have a leitax conversion kit on a backup f/6.8 telyt mount tube; the loss of auto-aperture doesn't bother me on these lenses because a) they don't have an automatic aperture and b) because I rarely use these lenses at any aperture smaller than 1/2 stop down from maximum aperture. With shorter lenses it's a different story.
