Zenith got a government contract to provide 286-based machines, and that is what I used to finish up my working career. Earlier, I got a hand-me-down Xerox computer that operated on two 8-inch floppy drives and used CP/M as the operating system. My secretary had a Xerox Star work station, which, as I recall used a graphic interface of some sort. I had a group in my branch that used DEC computers, so I had exposure to some sharp guys to plant the computer bug and help me get started.
