Yes. Sandy, supported by some other L Camera Forum members hase done some
good work on this and Leica's engineers are following. The diffuser in this
case is a very even and diffuse studio light bank used for a well controlled
worst case test. If you follow to the second part a correction has been
developed for post. Keep in mind this has been found present with the 18 in
this worst case (and some wider third party lenses).
The amount of correction going on to capture 24x36 with M lenses is
extensive, most especially with very wide lenses.
