I'm talking "crop factor" from the sensor dimensions and I think you are asking about cropping from the captured image? I'm trying to describe the difference when you want a 'normal' viewpoint but you get the apparent distortion and the greater depth of field but not the traditional field of view of a 20mm lens in this case. Don't get me wrong I think that micro four thirds in particular is a very smart development for the market and is now starting to provide some real benefits in design and form factor etc. Having said that I think the E620 for example makes the best for thirds sense for a dSLR user (the viewfinder is primary for me) I'm just interested to hear if others share those same reservations that I mentioned. I won't flood the list with more responses right now but I am hoping that others might want to contribute to the discussion. Not often I contribute on anything non-Leica here ;-) 2009/12/2 philippe.amard <philippe.amard at sfr.fr> > so it is not cropping is it? > ph > Le 1 d?c. 09 ? 21:57, Geoff Hopkinson a ?crit : > > > I mean having to use a 20mm lens in this case to produce the effective >> field of view of a 40mm lens on a "35mm" camera. >> >> 2009/12/2 philippe.amard <philippe.amard at sfr.fr> >> >> >>> Le 1 d?c. 09 ? 21:44, Geoff Hopkinson a ?crit : >>> >>> >>> I mean cropping the centre out of a 20mm shot on a 24x36 camera frame in >>> >>>> this case. >>>> >>>> >>> Geoff what do you mean there? >>> Amiti?s >>> Philippe >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> _______________________________________________ >>> Leica Users Group. >>> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >>> >>> >> >> >> -- >> Cheers >> Geoff >> http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >> > > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > -- Cheers Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman
