Hi Seth,
The idea of deliberately crashing would have been unthinkable in the old 
days for safety reasons, it should have been unthinkable in 2008, even if 
not for safety reasons...
I do not expect Michael to return, though there is a great deal of 
encouragement from Mercedes, he was in their young driver programme and they 
probably funded his start in F1. With Mercedes Grand Prix starting with Ross 
ad Team Principal it has attractions, but ties to Ferrari and common sense 
may stop it.
