I'm willing to bet a few bucks (US) that it's built from a halved  
Packard sedan.  Already a very sturdy auto from the get-go, Packard  
would make a good choice for the extension.  The midship wheel set is  
an interesting concept.

The Glacier National Park bus if different - looks a lot like the same  
buses used at Rainier National Park.  I think they were built by or  
modified from the old Diamond T delivery truck.

Any better answers?  You've all got me interested, now.

It's a beautiful old car.  Looks like most of the ladies inside are  
wearing head scarves.  Very interesting in light of today's "head  
covering" controversies!
