I have sentimental attachments to Ilford becaue I've used thousands of 100
or 250 sheet boxes of their 11x14 or 8x10 paper and thousands of rolls of
their film for countless jobs and my own personal work over decades. The
paper was no comparison against the Kodak. The Kodak was a joke nobody I
knew used it. They NEVER got it right. Most of their black and white films I
liked better than Ilford. The Delta films were head over heels above Tmax.
But I never liked Hp5 or 4 or 3. Fp4 never worked as well for me as plus x.
and both were made in 220. Pan F I liked not quite as much as Panatomic X
but in medium format it was close.
Panatomic X was my signature film. Every time I scan it and work with it it
puts a smile on my face.
