I highly recommend that everyone watch "Gasland"

A great documentary
(albeit with a strong POV)

The point of all good documentary work IMHO
is to shine a light on those subjects which others attempt to keep in the 
shadows
due to greed, self-interest or other less than socially acceptable agendas.
