Subject: [Leica] What are the rumours around Leica and Photokina? WAS : Leica annual report

This from the company that now offers a $30K digital ....sort-of MF 
body.....the S2.  And what would cost about $50K to get body and a couple-3  
lenses....???? 

I can only believe that price is NOT the issue.....  they are not afraid of 
high price points... see discussions of $5K ( and lots more)  lenses for the 
M series......and the S2.

But the real issue?  fear of failure in the format.. nah, see note above on 
weird format digi-MF.....that things has still to prove itself a real force 
against Hasselblad, et al....

I have no idea.....it may be one of those Teutonic things..... We will not 
offer.... etc....said with a Sergeant Schultz accent......
