I've used a Bromwell, (made by Berlebach) for many years.  It weighs about
the same as a similar sized
Manfrotto.

I like it because it not only absorbs shake, but is comfortable to the touch
in either hot or  cold weather.

Kinda overkill for a Leica, but when you set it up, it looks like a "real
photographer's" tripod.

Looks real pretty with that nice wood grain.
