Most buyers of Zeiss Contax had money... and they bought the top of the range.....the absolutely wonderful f2.8 Biogon. If I remember corectly, the Orthometar was supposed to have less distorion, because of its design. But it was cheap feeling and obviously not the top of hte range. I had one, and found it not as nice optically as the Biogons.
