looked at the .sparsebundle, but Restore has actually always worked.
There've been no problems.
I also keep a recent system on the time machine drive, so that i can
boot from it, and with that system I keep basic repair and
restore/backup tools.
Also, once every couple of weeks I closne the system drive, and every
month I clone it to another drive.
I haven't lost anything for a long while (where's that wood when you need
it?).
