Soon we will have poisoned the minds of the youth and they will not be able
to remember a time when you couldn't find a donut shop with your camera and
they'll reject anything with "interchangeable lenses".

They'll run into some guy in a tilly hat and two Domke F2's and they'll say
"dude, where's your PHONE? how are you going to take any PICTURES?"

which actually reminds me of a serious story back during the 2000 republican
election I was covering a John McCain speech and in the photo pit with the
usual cast of characters, there was a woman from AOL News. She had a small
point and shoot, and a laptop with a modem. Officials from the event kicked
her out because her gear didn't look professional enough, despite protests
from all of us that her photos were going to get seen by a lot more people,
and a lot sooner, than ours.

And two years ago when photographing Chelsea Clinton there was a guy next to
me with a point & shoot who turned out to be from the Philadelphia Daily
News. Before I got back to my house and started looking at my images, he had
his photo up on the DN's web page.

Times they are a-changin for sure.

Did any of you get photos of the tornado in New York last night?
