More like reading a piece of paper. My Kindle battery also lasts two weeks, which I think is a lot longer than the iPad will go. The only problem I have with the Kindle is that the publishers have raised the prices on e-books and they are now more expensive than hardbacks, which makes no sense at all. There are still plenty of free downloads but the newest best-sellers are over $19 for a book that has no printing costs.
