Whether it be photos of the visiting USA President addressing Parliament or one of the MP's of Parliament. So the quick fix? Push it to 1600 or 3200 and get on with capturing the moments. Shoot wide open and focus carefully. In effect use the widest possible aperture and highest possible shutter speed. Quite easy really. And you surely did not want to go back to the newspaper and say "I didn't get any pictures it was too dark!" Besides as long as you can see your subject you can adjust the camera and or ASA settings and come back with quite useable photos. And these days with any colour casts the Photoshop Wizard makes them go away! :-) See no flash! ;-) And yes I agree there are times to use flash!
