My 21mm f/2.8 Zeiss lens came back from an extended work/holiday in New Orleans today and i really wanted to go shooting with it to remember the lens itself. I had to do a few edits on a news piece I'm doing about the gubernatorial race here in Pennsylvania and by the time I got outside, it was already dark. i wanted to take just the 21mm lens on my M9 with my Leica finder. It's 21mm, what's a little low light gonna hurt? I walked down South St. taking photos of the usual folks in Halloween costumes heading to parties, open bottles of beer and wine in-hand. When I reached Front St, I turned north towards Market St. but was stopped by the very familiar sound of a reciprocating steam roller. The Philly streets division were finally completing the asphalt on Spruce St. and I caught the last 200 feet of work. The light was captivating and the camera still didn't capture the atmosphere like I wanted it but here you can get a sense. All shot with an M9, ISO 800, ZM 21mm f/2.8 @ 2.8 or 4. (I might have to use a handheld meter when using the ZM lens because the wide pattern throws off the scene & I have to compensate.) http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000406_E.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000407_E.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000408_E.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000411_E.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000413_E.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000416_E.jpg.html http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/PhilForrest/Phila_110308web/l1000417P_E.jpg.html Thanks all!
