The Pre-ASPH 35 Lux is a nice lens that weighs almost nothing. It is the same ( or very close) to the pre ASPH Cron. If you only use the extra stop when you are in trouble with the light, it is worth carrying. Remember, it is the weight that makes it special. Optically, the ASPH Lux and Cron are superior...... no doubt about it.....but weigh a bit to a lot more than the older versions..... So inherent optical quality or light weight? Which is it? Let your pocketbook help you decide...... Frank Filippone Red735i at earthlink.net A used lens should never approach the cost of the new version. Phil Forrest
