Thanks for the advice and offers!  For my M3, I decided to buy an MR  
from a LUGer off-list who sent me good photos of the meter and tested  
it in different light conditions.  I wish I asked this question on the  
LUG a year or so ago, as I've been looking for one of these on and off  
for ages!
