I dream in black and white, always have, even as a child.

Even when awake, although I see perfectly in colour (I have been
tested extensively) I do not notice colours unless I pause and think
about them or if they are pointed out to me.  It's my brain, not my
eyes.  No-one has ever given me a satisfactory explanation about why
it happens or what it means.

That this is so contentious and difficult confirms what we already
knew - photography is an aesthetic pursuit and in aesthetics "I like
it" can be both good enough and very difficult to explain.
