Here's the lily against a plain background with a luminous, soft-light fill http://gallery.leica-users.org/d/250393-2/_MG_1092_edited-4-2-1.jpg and again, with a blue-white gradient replacing the background http://gallery.leica-users.org/d/187466-1/White_Lily_MG_1089-Edit-3.jpg The story behind the shot: The Lily was part of a project I did back in early 2005 to fill in the time "between jobs" (after my last contract as a geophysical consultant and not long before my translation business really took off) and I tried various backgrounds and various post-processing steps at the time - and I'm still not sure which are most appropriate. The subjects ranged from simple crocuses http://gallery.leica-users.org/d/250404-1/_MG_0954_RGB16-1.jpg to bird of paradise flowers http://gallery.leica-users.org/d/250408-1/_MG_1105_edited-2-2-1.jpg and ended up being edited down to around 2500 different shots from which one was ultimately selected and sold for use on the website of a German high-end Hi-Fi manufacturer: http://gallery.leica-users.org/d/250400-1/300dpi_MG_1167_edited-1-1-2.jpg They are still using it, too:-) http://www.lindemann-audio.de/de/products/index.php Cheers Douglas On 07.01.2011 20:05, Alan Magayne-Roshak wrote: > On Fri, 07 Jan 2011 Douglas Sharp<douglas.sharp at gmx.de> wrote: > >> Hi everyone - a Friday Flower from me again >> Everything in the garden is dead or covered with snow, >> so here's a white lily shot a while back indoors. >> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/album150/_MG_1092-1.jpg.html > ========================================================================================================== > The flower is beautiful, but I'm afraid I'll have to say the wrinkled > background spoils it for me.
