It is the read speed. The camera controls the write speed, and if the card CAN go fast enough, there are no problems. If, however, the card write speed is not up to snuff, the camera will gag on it, all the time. But your symptoms are like mine were...... flaky. A card has only so many writes that can be done, and then it gets "old". A card that is a bit below par, gets flaky faster..... Below par does not mean old.... it means it has started to fail. A 16GB card is about $25..... Sending in your M9 to be repaired will cost you much more than $25 just for the insurance. ( about $0.75 per $100 or $75 ( give or take). Change the card for a new one... it does not need to be the fastest card out there. Your computer can take its time to read it a bit slower. Your M9 will go no faster. Considering the cost of cards these days, I doubt Sandisk will actually test the card.... replacing it without testing is more efficient and saves them money.... Rei.. I think the M9 buffer is twice the M8 buffer..... but regardless, the 4x cards are older and probably starting to show signs of failing.... replace all your 4x cards too... It might not hurt all of us to replace our cards once every year or so.....sort of like replacing your batteries in your flashlights or oil in your car..... it is a maintenance item.... Frank Filippone Red735i at earthlink.net This was with a 200x card and I do not shoot like I have a motordrive ;-) It was 24 shots in 10 minutes which failed. john > -----Original Message----- > > This used to happen with my M8 especially shooting sequences with > slower cards like 4x.
